Born in 1908, Freitag fled Austria in 1938, lived in England for six years, and settled in the United States in 1946. She received her masters and doctorate from Columbia University and became a Fibonacci scholar. Freitag taught mathematics at Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia from 1948-1971 until her retirement in Roanoke. |
